Hi Sarah,
am away from work right now so can't share citations, but from memory I suggest you check out the following:
a) Parslow and Horne's studies on differences in arousal between bf and nonbf babies
b) work on the effects of oxytocin on maternal responsivity and sleep (I heard Kerstin Uvnas Moberg speak on this but don't know if she did the research)
c) Carpenter's 2006 paper (in a Canadian pediatrics journal) showing the cumulative difference on SIDS of bedsharing/not bed sharing for bf and ff babies (bearing in mind all the caveats about how bf/ff was or was not defined). I heard him speak on this at Edmonton Int'l SIDS mtg and while he emphasised the risks of bfeeding and bedsharing the data he presented for ff were substantially greater.
Regards
Helen
