My grandmother rec for diarrhea is juice of one fresh lime, hot water and 
sip like tea.  If you can't stand it straight (like me) add sugar to taste 
for a limeade sort of drink, but it is small volume - 1 cup.  Not sure how 
to relate this to BF, except it would be easy for a mom with diarrhea to 
take.  No meds to interfere with breastfeeding (how's that! LOL)  Pat in SNJ
