Working-Class Mothers. (147-179) As you can see she is writing about
working-class mothers and her own research is richly annotated with many
references to support her work.
This chapter was published previously in GENDER AND SOCIETY 10 (1996) as
"Negotiating Independent Motherhood: Working class African American Women
Talk About Marriage and Motherhood" and is reprinted in this book with
permission of Sage publications.
By the way there is a chapter on La Leche League which is why I bought the
book to begin with. (I am a long time La Leche Leader)
