i have to agree with Joy.  First off, the baby in question is highly sensitive
to dairy, so anything containing dairy is out. (and he's only six months old)

Secondly,  it would seem that if there truly *is* a problem, then the problem
does need to be uncovered so that it can be corrected...wether it's a supply
issue (which it doesn't seem to be at this point in time in this case), or an
assimilation issue with baby, or a metabolic issue etc.

FE, gluten intolerance ( and celiac disease) is seriously underdiagnosed in
this country and is probably a major cause of unusually small stature. I'm not
at my computer or I'd post the stats to back that up.

But in this case, looking at all the details that I have now, it looks like
this baby truly is now gaining appropriately and is definitely not fitting any
description of FTT.

The general consensus that I'm getting from other medical professionals (other
peds i've spoken with....1 gastroenterologist) is that 1 oz per day is
probably not a reasonable expectation of weight gain at this point in time (6
mos of age).
