I'd be very cautious on focusing just on eliminating dairy and soy. If
it works, fantastic, but if it doesn't work - baby has been getting her
allergens for 'that' much longer keeping the problem going, continuing
the immune response, continuing the intestinal damage.

As Lynn mentioned, really the quickest way to ferret out intolerances
and allergies is to go to a very basic diet. For instance, she could
make a large pot of rice or millet. Bake a pan of turkey 'tenders'.
Saute some zucchini and summer squash. Bake some winter squash. All
using only salt, pepper and olive oil. She'll probably notice a change
very quickly. Pears can often be eaten as well.

It won't do her any good to spend alot of energy and money on soy and
dairy free foods if her daughter is really allergic to corn and eggs.
the top 8 allergens account for 80 or 90% of food reactions: wheat, soy,
dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, fish. Corn, potato and
citrus are not uncommon.

I'd strongly encourage this mom to go to a basic diet first -which is
generally much easier than trying to learn all the hidden names and
ingredients in processed foods. I'd also encourage IgE (immediate
responses) and IgG (delayed responses...24-48h) blood testing for the
baby ASAP. There can be a fairly high degree of false positives 6-20%
on the blood tests, but i'd rather have false postive results than false
negs. It's easy enough to ferret out the true ones through challenges.
At least this would give more concrete information.
