When my first son was 4 days old, we were hit by an ice storm (I live in the
south, so this was bizarre!) that paralyzed our region. We were without
power for about 5 days. Fortunately, we were able to stay with some
neighbors, but I was SO glad I was breastfeeding.

This is what I call breastfeeding in an emergency!  Three members of a
family was missing for a week after leaving for a 65 mile trip where the
weather turned bad.  The mom with two children were found today.  There was
no food or water in the car so the kids survived by breastfeeding.  Check
