I would suggest Kitzingers' 24 Hour Top-production method: get in bed with baby
and feed at any whispering or whimp baby makes or seems to make. Lot's of 25ml
feeds will make for a good days' intake and increase fat content. Which in fact
of course basicly is the normal feeding behaviour for lots of babies around the
world. The teen sibblings can assist in household to make mom feel comfortable
doing nothing but feed and cuddle the baby.
Feeding on cue probably is not really feeding on every cue if it's on amore or
less 3 hourly basis. I've seen mothers feed on what they saw as on demand, but
only counting the demands around ''feeding time'', interpreting other signs as
being tired, wanting to play, wanting to suckle but not eat, having a dirty or
wet diaper, etc.
