Hi Friends-It's good to have at least time to lurk again, even if I can't get
to posting/chatting much. I miss it so much when I'm away!
I'm having a problem with the neonatologist I work with. She has a real
obsession with weights, which is important when dealing with premies, growth
retarded babies, and those with real feeding problems, but not with term,
well babies who are nursing well at hospital discharge. She will keep these
babies when they are otherwise ready for d/c just because of weight loss,
even when it is less than 10%, and babe is feeding well, and mom's milk is
not fully in. Even when jaundice is not a problem.
Anyone have a really good resource I can use? The real problem is a lack of
trust in breastfeeding, but I need concrete ammunition for the moment, while
I work on the other problem gradually. Didn't I see a post on growth charts
for BF infants recently, also. Where can I get one???? Thanks to those of
you who offered input on my mom with the nipple eczema-it's so nice to be
able to do this!
