Mary, I had similar experience.  I could express
*still sweet and white* milk until my 1st was 5 years
old (she weaned at 18 months).  By the time the 2nd
weaned, I just had a tiny bit of oily and untasty
colostrum-like fluid for a few weeks.  I don't doubt
that this had something to do with him finally
weaning.  I was 41 and definitely perimenopausal.
