How true.  I find myself more and more passing on tidbits on baby
care that have nothing to do with breastfeeding.  I always thought
it was the frustrated grandma (no grandchildren yet) in me.  The
area that scares me the most is car seats.  I notice that more than
half the babies who are carried into the office in those "buckets"
are not fastened in safely!  I know most have been shown or helped
with putting baby in at discharge, but they have so much else on
their minds at that point that it doesn't sink in.  So maybe that's
the one benefit of parents carrying baby in the bucket-more chance
that someone will notice the unsafe way they are fastening baby and
be able to show them how to do it effectively.

Incidentally, I think we start parents off with the notion that
babies belong in the buckets when we insist that they bring the
carseat to their room and get baby into it before they go home.
