Time limits for feedings of preterm infants has a long history.
Non-evidence-based thinking was that breastfeeding took longer so therefore
used up more calories and had to be limited. The opposite has been shown.
We also know that bottle-feeding can contribute to oxygen desaturation in
preemies.
