I find that part of the problems around whetheror not to give Depo to nursing
mothers stems from the fact that the literature states that Depo IS compatible
with breastfeeding. That's all the health care providers read and it's their
bible.
I agree that it's hard to decide (when a mom does seem to have supply problems
while using Depo) whether the Depo is at fault or a whole list of other
possibilities that could play into the problem.
As far as other methods of birth control out there that are reliable??? I feel
that there are very FEW methods of BC that most people( especially teens) find
acceptable for contraception during the time Mom is breastfeeding. Most
require diligence on Mom's part and few teens are able to put up with that.
Too bad,huh??
