No, not what we might LIKE to call them.  I can think of a few "not for public consumption" terms!  Every time I would hear someone refer to "gtift" bags, I would say, "No, they aren't gifts, they are ADVERTISING SAMPLES.  I felt I was at least accomplishing something while I ws banging my head on the wall trying to get across why they were unethical at best and dangerous at worst.  It did get so all I had to do when I heard a nurse talk about a "gift bag" was to look at her and she would change it to "advertising sample".  Sometimes it was with a roll of her eyes, but at least it did interrupt the regular thought pattern that was all too prevanent.  
Sometimes you do have to take your victories in tiny bites, but as those of us who have ever tried to lose weight know, those tiny bites can lead to eating the whole cake!
