OK, the swim instructor in me coming out -
A baby doesn't swim around under water swallowing huge amounts of water, he swims around
holding his breath.
Very few babies swallow much water at all during their swim lessons. Hyponatremia is a
deficiency of sodium in the blood, which can be caused by excessive water consumption. It
would be extremely unusual for a baby to swallow more than a few mouthfuls of water, so I
think the link to Hyponatremia and the resultant muscular weakness and convulsions is a
bit of a stretch.
cheers
