You are right. I went back and reread the study and it does not say anywhere
exclusive breastfeeding. It does say exclusive bottlefeeding. I must have
done a mental jump. Actually I make a good example of someone who is already
prejudiced against a study--don't I? It's hard for me to believe that the
words, "exclusive breastfeeding" weren't there.

Now I suppose that should change my attitude about funding but it really
doesn't. And you know it wouldn't matter if for example the study was about
various breast pumps and funded by a well-known breast pump company. I would
find myself discounting the information--being prejudiced. And, I can't
believe that I am the only person who would be that way. To me that would be
why, if you were a researcher you would want to avoid financial backing from
anyone who stands to profit from your studies. You would not want your study
so readily dismissed (or misread!!). But nowadays it seems that a majority of
studies have funding from the very industries that stand to profit--not just
in breastfeeding/human milk research. It has alot to do with the costs of
research. It has alot to do with young researchers being funded big time by
huge companies--like Nestle or Glaxo for example.
