Since my I have a lot of training in epidemiology, it makes me keenly aware
of its limitations. One of the lproblems tjat pftem arises in clinical
studies is that these tend to look only at the majority response in a
particular group and not those who respond differently within the group.
It tends to pit one intervention against another and ignore the fact that
some interventions work better for some people than for others. I would
ask an entirely different question about one type of pump versus another
type. The more important question to me seems to be under what type of
pump works better for particular circumstances and for particular moms. I
do know some moms who have been very successful with the Isis pump, just as
I know others who can't get a drop out. Ditto for the hospital grade
double electric pumps.
