I like your analogy about the sink! Great imagery.  A problem remains,
however. When we need to say "emptying the breast" in print, using only a
few words to say what we mean, we can't use such an analogy. I liked
Carrie's words, "softening" of the breast, as opposed to "emptying."
Other than that, I haven't seen a succinct description that we can use
when writing.
