Pat Gima here, coming our of lurkdom to wish Margery
farewell. Margery, I remember you so well from Lactnet around
1997. I just went to my Lactnet files and found several of your
posts in my "Best of Lactnet" file.

Back then we had such high hopes for what LCs could do for
breastfeeding and we did it. But the U.S. breastfeeding picture has
dramatically changed as loyalties transferred from health of infants
to wealth of corporations.

I hear your story often as I talk with LCs whom I meet. (I still work
on the Wisconsin affiliate level.) I don't know what can be done in
the current climate but I send my blessing on all of you who are
still doing all that you can for the health of infants and families
and the world. Miracles do happen and maybe you will be a part of one.

With appreciation and caring,

Pat Gima
