The CDC report is misleading.

There are many courses that offer certificates that have at least as much if not more training than the course that provides the CLC certificate. A fully informed report would have included all these other educators and counselors on a per woman basis. This would have provided the ratios of:

a) breastfeeding educators per population
b) breastfeeding peer counselors per population
c) breastfeeding counselors per population
d) breastfeeding clinicians per population

It is disgraceful that these other groups were left out. The CDC should have taken the initiative to make sure that they wrote a fully inclusive report.
