Debbie asks, << in addition to the video, Delivery Self Attachment, what
documentation/research/articles do you suggest to use to support this?
Preferably with the drugged/sedated type wording>>

Brazelton's assessment tools are good. Common sense helps a lot. Movies of
unmedicated births clearly show very alert babies. "Your Amazing Newborn" is
a fabulous video that Marshall Klaus recommends. I tried to send my working
bib on "the influence of birth practices on breastfeeding ability - mother
and baby" but it was too long for Lactnet.

You could start looking on the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative site
for references www.motherfriendly.org. Or come to one of my lectures where I
discuss this topic at length. The next one is ILCA's Regional Conference in
Berkeley CA on March 1-2. (see www.ILCA.org for information). OR contact a
midwife, childbirth educator, and/or Doula - you'll hear the same messages.
