It is my understanding that we recommend the aqueous GV instead of the
alcohol version is because of the drying effects of alcohol on the skin.

Some women have noticed a reaction to the GV/alcohol if using GV for a long
period or are of the 'sensitive-skin' type.
Personally I have used both on myself and havent noticed a reaction. The
alcohol version took longer to wear off.

Wonder too about the drying effects of the alcohol on a baby's oral mucosa.

(I totally agree with Maureen Minchin about having GV back on the market in
Aust. And about the nerve pain. One needs to have 'contacts' to get GV in
Aust. A nice friendly pharmacist for example. I know the Royal Women's
Hospital pharmacy in Melbourne can make it up, but dont know how you can
get it from them if you dont have contacts or dont work there. Worth a ring
to them if anyone is interested.)
