I'd like to use this forum to publicly thank Maureen for standing up and
offering to take the concerns expressed here, to the IBLCE board, the
certification committee, and the ILCA board.  It's clear that this is a very
hot topic.  I'm hoping IBLCE will back-pedal on this one, rescind the SoP,
and perhaps let us all know what precipitated this document coming into
being in this form before going back to square one and trying again.  

Because of our superb listserv it will be a cinch to find most of the posts
on this topic by an archive search for 'scope of practice' posts this week.
