Yes, usually milk products are the first suspected foods, when there is a suspicion
of allergy. But of course the other allergens have to be considered either.

Actually I'm surprised to see this that often. I'm on a Dutch mailinglist for
breastfeeding mothers, and I am able to follow the mothers from birth to weaning.
After all these years I'm on this list I can see a pattern among them. These cases
show the following pattern: strong familiy history of allergies, esp in the mother or
in the mothers family. The baby's are reluctant nursers. They do not nurse often,
some even start to be relucant shortly after birth. But most start being reluctant
after a couple of months. A lot of them do not ask for nursing themselves.

Weigth gain isn't much. Usually in the lower percentiles. And after a couple of monts
they drop in percentiles. Some even loose weigth.

Introducing solids is difficult. Most of these babies refuse solids, but when they
don't refuse they react strong on it: constipation, colic, etc.

To clearify myself: I do not say I allways label the above pattern as an allergy
induced reluctance. I allways look for other factors. But then I'm surprised how
often I find a family history of allergies. I'm convinced the allergy does play a
role in these cases.
