Dosages and protocols for use of Reglan are in both of Dr. Hale's excellent
books. His Clinical Therapy in Breastfeeding Patients has proven invaluable
to me recently. Given the inexpensiveness of this book and of his
Medications in Mothers Milk, and their easy accessibility (sold at virtually
every bfg conf. on the planet and on the internet!) there is no great effort
or cost involved in adding these to one's personal library. Lawrence's
current edition, while more expensive, has a protocol for use of reglan. It
behooves people looking for up-to-date drug/dosage refs. to try to examine
standard, published resources first, and to invest in them in order to be
current with the standards of practice of our profession. While the info
provided on Lactnet tends to be of generally high quality, the LC has an
obligation to be cautious about on-line info, and to review it against
standard texts for veracity. This is not an ad and I have no commercial
interest in this suggestion, nor is it meant to be personally critical of
the poster seeking info. This is a professional ethics situation. I worry
about people basing their decisions based on something they "saw on the
internet". People on Lactnet can make typos and change a drug/dosage
drastically, and it has happened a few times. Usually this is quickly
corrected with a "Whoops, sorry!" in the next digest, but what if you miss
that one?
