Hello , I belong to a few fiber related lists. On one of the I have with
amusement and amazement has followed a discussion about octuplets and bottle
feeding. Only in this case the mothers are sheep. Apparently there is a
bread of sheep that has litters of 8. But the ewes are unable to feed all of
the babes, hence the bottle feeding. The discussion centered around the need
to be extremely careful when choosing to bottle feed any of the lambs. The
solution being to only supplement with bottles , but make sure that each
lamb bill get to nurse at least a little. The shepards were saying that
most of the exclusively bottle fed animals will have severe behavioral
problems , and as they grow become unmanageable.
Just thought it might be interesting.
