Although many have advocated for EXTENDED experience in a wide-variety of
helping situations before sitting for the IBCLC exam, I want to remind
everyone that this is an entry-level exam.

We all started-out knowing much less than we know now.  We all had/have more
experience in some areas and less in others.  We ALL learn everyday!

Please don't jump on those aspiring to join us and squash their enthusiasm
and confidence.  Newcomers to any field/ job/ position/ group do not know as
much as the experienced members.  The more important thing is that they have
basic knowledge and experience AND willingness to learn, study, and develop
their skills.  We need to help and support them as this happens.
