This can happen with older babies too, especially since one version of the
gospel on starting solids is to push yellow vegetables.   I personally know a
little boy whose diet at about 10 months included pureed carrots, yellow
squash, apricots, and peaches -- and who turned very yellow indeed.    Their
ped figured it out right away, so there were no sequelae except parental
embarrassment.
