Hi all,

I have been very busy and keep saving all my Lactnet so I can read them later.
If someone needs to talk to me, or to the region 10 rep. for ICLA; send me a
private email.

I do have a question about an antibiotic. I am working with a mother who has
had a kidney infection. She was on an antibiotic that was compatible with
breastfeeding. After 14 days, it was not working. The doctor put her on
Noroxin (sorry I couldn't find the generic). Her baby is six months old and
weighs about 18 lbs. She takes 400mg. 2 times/day. She did call the University
of Washington and they said to stop. She is to take the med. for 5 days but
could be on it for longer.

Her family is prone to kidney and bladder infections. She did not get one while
pregnant or early lactation; however she usually gets them about 2 times/year.
We need suggestions for the short term problem and some long term suggestions as
well. Let me know on the net or private email.

Thanks in advance,
Diane Herforth, BAE, IBCLC, ICCE
