There has been negative "information" circulating about bf and IUDs for
the last 25 years.  When my second child was born at that time I was told
that the
risk of uterine perforations, during insertion, in early lactation was
much higher than in other mothers.  I have never really surveyed the
literature to see what the research actually shows- and what is
published might not be enough to really know.
