I got a call from a client who would like *MD* responses to her concerns
about nursing while pregnant. She's 42, has had one miscarriage and 3
children. She's currently nursing the 2 year old and is about 8 weeks pg.
She has been spotting - brown with occasional pink - for about 10 days. The
spotting tapered off, then resumed and seems to be tapering again. She
hasn't nursed for a week, but it's been hard.

Her own HCPs urged immediate weaning, citing possible problems not from
increased oxytocin, apparently, but from decreased progesterone (?). She
hasn't been told to refrain from sex.

I've read to her from Lawrence and from LLL materials. Everything I find
says no problem "during a healthy pregnancy" but doesn't elaborate. She'd
really like comments from other *MDs*. Please e-mail me privately in a
format I can forward to her.
