Don't feel sorry to say this. Who are we supposed to be loyal to? The dr or
nurse who didn't do her/his job well? Or the mother and baby who deserve to have
a good start on breastfeeding in order to continue breastfeeding for as long as
they plan/like? I'd say the latter.
I do not think that we should stay silent and cover ''mistakes'' of hcp's with
the mantle of love. That doesn't help the hcp, for they keep on giving bad
advice, not ourselves, nor our profession, for we didn't signal obvious
ineffective breastfeeding management and least of all mom and baby who probably
will turn to the bottle and loose all benefits of breastfeeding they are
entitled to.
