I opened up my 6 year old PIS. There was definitely dust and dirt on the diaphragm that I would not want to come in contact with any baby. I am wondering the same question too, did the owners that found the mold find it on the diaphragm which is easy to see and clean or in the actual motor (only knowing by busting it open). I don't want to recommend using the same pump for subsequent children without knowing for sure. Thanks
