To anyone who has not visited Rochester, NY, be aware of the following:

a) there are numerous LCs and LACTNUTs there who are just wonderful--doing
all kinds of really terrific work and making lots of changes
b) the leaves are gorgeous in late October
c) bring a warm jacket--the wind can slice right through a person who is no
longer used to 30°F temps (how quickly I have changed!)

My trip there recently was great! To top it off, on my flight(s) home, I
stopped (among other places) in Detroit. While heading for the women's
room, I chanced to see a young mother sitting on a small bench. Her baby
lay across her, as if breastfeeding! Sure enough, as I got closer, I
caught a quick glimpse of a busy cheek!  Baby looked to be about 4 months;
quite big and round and plump like a healthy thriving breastfed baby could
be expected to me. I smiled at her. On my way back past that bench (hey,
I couldn't help myself!) I planned to say something positive to her. An
older woman beat me to it! So, I just smiled again and went on down the
hall, making sure that my bag with the nursing mother and baby on one side
and all the different Task Forces in the state of Washington listed on the
other side was in PLAIN VIEW for all to see, including this lovely young
mother!

Made me think that my dream of breastfeeding coming out of the
bathroom/closet/bedroom, etc. is getting closer-one mother and baby at a
time!

PS All you Rochester-ites! Many many thanks for your hospitality. I
really appreciated how you took care of me...
