We have a mom in our support group who is currently breastfeeding her fat, healthy baby @ 7 mos old. We only recently learned that she had MS when she shared in the group how one of the blessings of breastfeeding for her was that it was keeping her MS in remission. She is taking meds, but I don't know what they are as she never asked me to look them up for her--I presume this is something she discussed with her doctor, as her dr encouraged her to breastfeed.

So, yes, opinions do vary.
