thought and that she will have to lie flat on her back - possibly for as long
as 3 months."

Could the baby be brought in to breastfeed?  Another thought, will this mom
not be on a rotation bed/stryker frame and rotated to her stomach several
times per day?  (My orthopedics is a bit rusty)  If so she could be helped to
pump those times.
