They generally aren't in breastfeeding mothers in bottle advertisements
with the implication that the baby was born out of wedlock, i.e. "Women
with loose morals breastfeed." In contrast, the wedding bands of bottle
feeding parents tend to be prominent, with sometimes awkward hand
positioning used to get the ring in the in shot.

Bottle ads are rife with subtle negative messages about breastfeeding.
"Educational" materials can have these too. ICEA's New Parent video III
depicts as a nursing mom an obese woman with no partner in sight,
fumbling with the phone and clearly having a hard time with simple
tasks; yet the happy and thin couple sitting together on the sofa
discuss how nice it is to have the father give relief bottles to the
baby. It also of course contains in-line ads for a bottle company.
