I'm excited to report that I have now seen 3 of the Ad Council's "Babies
were born to breastfeed" billboards in the Charleston, WV area. One of
the local radio talk shows was inviting calls with listener comments about
these new billboards, and, not surprisingly, much of the feedback was
negative. I'm just glad it's starting some conversation, as West Virginia
was in the pink areas on all the new CDC Breastfeeding Statistics maps.
Lots of work to do here.
Ironically, one of the billboards was placed in a section of my town
known as the "Badlands", which has a high concentration of strip clubs. I
guess perhaps more men will see the signs!

PS. It's been awhile since I chuckled so much as reading the article
Rachel Myr just sent a link for from BMJ. Thanks, Rachel!
