I was overwhelmed by #s until I divided births by #IBCLC/CLE s.  Our county
hospital has about 10% of your numbers (110 a mo) so I guess we would qualify
for 3.5 LCs to cover.  I think we are a bit short, though not short of
interested parties (they have filed Intent for Baby Friendly, and are working
on it...).

Any thoughts of doing some sort of Postpartum survey to see how long women
continue and where they take their problems?  MediCal (Medicaid) pays for
licensed folks to do home visits so in Theory we can bill for LCs if they are
RNs--have yet to see any billing though.  Do your postpartums get home
visits?
