Hi Mary,

We also give antenatal class with parents.

The video sounds like a good idea to me
I like the video: Fathers Supporting Breastfeeding. (African American
fathers and their partners), Oct 2002.
I used it years ago at my LLL meetings. I don't know if it is still
up-to-date.

Another idea:
Give them cards with questions or theorems or topics (I hope this is the
right word) so they can have a discussion on their own.

We use cards to make our courses more interactive.

We have a theorem about fathers.
The support of a father is useless (which of course isn't)

A father needs to know the basics of breastfeeding ( according to a GOLD 10
session of Jarold (Tom) Johnston they need to know!!!)

It needs a whole village to breastfeed a baby!
What do you think your wife needs the first weeks? the first monts
What do you think your baby needs?
What do you think you need? (Fathers are often forgotten. All the attention
goes to the mother and the baby)
What do you think your family needs?

Topics;
Visitors, how to deal with them.
Broken nights

Maybe you can find some inspiration in the book Breastfeeding in Combat
Boots. Jarold authored a chapter on the role of the father.

I am also thinking about asking a father to help us with the course to tell
about the fatherhood.

And if they are just drinking coffee it is also fine.

Good luck. Looking forward to hear about the course

Yours,
