    I asked the mom, she said that she couldn't be pregnant, but she did a test anyway, which was negative.

Joy,
   thank you for your suggestions, I forwarded them to the mom. They are going to see the baby's ped tomorrow, so she can ask the doctor to give them a referral to an oto-rhino-laryngologist.
I also think that they really deserve to enjoy breastfeeding at last!
