Oops! Hold on, Salmonella typhi is definitely not an organism most
children get and get through on their own.  It is the cause of Typhoid
Fever.  The other salmonellas can be asymptomatic or serious, but S.
typhi, if it produces clinical disease, is often very serious and
usually is treated with antibiotics.  Resistant strains are also a
problem.
