I had a mom in clinic last week ask me if it was safe for the mother to eat unpasturized honey while she is breastfeeding her baby. Baby is 4 months old. Mom is not putting the honey on nipples the mom is ingesting the honey in her tea. Does anyone have any information abou this? i am thinking it is okay for the mom to consume the honey and the botulism spores would not transfer into the breastmilk.
Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks
