My neice's daughter also has laryngo. She had surgery at 4 mos. The surgery was only partly successful.

The ENT who did the surgery also recommended that my neice feed her daughter expressed milk in a bottle. I don't think he ever offered her any real reason for this suggestion (i.e. nothing backed up by any research). My neice did this for a few days (although her daughter also has bottles while in day care), but then her daughter came down with a cold and refused the bottle from mom--smart baby! The ped. said, "as long as she's eating."

My grand neice is now six months old. She continues to breastfeed with mom, eats solid foods, and has a bottle while mom is at work. Her weight gain continues to be very slow. Still, she is continues to be an alert and happy baby who is meeting her developmental milestones on time.
