She could try virgin coconut oil topically.

There are also some claims that taking internally works but I am not sure there is adequate science to back that up.

It is a healthy food, so it should be okay to try.  I have read that, in order to avoid die-off symptoms and possible gastro-symptoms, you should start with a couple of teaspoons and slowly work up to 4 tablespoons a day.
