Just to let you know, I have an excellent one my sister designed, BUT
every system has to be continuously updated to fit with changing
operating systems as computers are upgraded. THAT is what the problem
is with programming and why it is so expensive and why webmasters are
necessary. With new HIPPA laws and privacy laws, your system must
comply with these laws also, so must be secure. THAT is why they want
so much to design it in the first place. My son is currently in 3rd
year college and is working on this. I am hoping to get him to take a
look at this for us as a profession. Mine currently accommodates
diagnoses that are lactation related, supplies and products,
consultations, pumps and billing. I want to add email and form letter
merging to it. BUT this is NOT easy at all. IF I can get his help
(HEY, he was breastfed 3.5 years and owes his mama something!) I will
let you know. It takes a log of work to develop this. He is currently
being paid $600 a week to work for a firm doing their WebPages in a
part-time capacity while he takes 21 hours at college, so I hate to
demand too much from him.

Subject: computer software

Why is it that with all the varied backgrounds on this list, none of us,
or one of our equally brilliant spouses, has yet designed computer
software for LCs that is affordable and suits our needs? I know of only
one software program and it did not fit our needs. It seems like
everyone has had to design something themselves to fit their own needs
and none of us are happy with it. Where are all the brilliant software
engineers on or related to this list, and how can we get them to design
something we can use and afford? It should not be complicated or cost
$10-40,000 US dollars!!!

Subject: Pump Rental Management Software

Hello! I am searching for computer software that manages pump rentals.
We will be meeting with a couple of software engineers tomorrow who have
estimated that this will be a VERY expensive, a two to three month
endeavor costing $10-40,000.

Hoping that we don't need to re-invent the wheel and can pay less to
someone who can share their systems with us for less money, even if it
needs to be modified.

Anyone can e-mail me off list.

Thank you!
