Subject: Vancouver IBCLC Contacts

Hi Linda,

I was a participant at the Toronto 20 hour Lactation Management Course in
Toronto, June 18-19&20.

As per our conversation regarding IBCLC contacts in B.C / Vancouver, I was
wondering if you could forward me some names of possible people that would
act as mentors for me to facilitate my IBCLC certification.

It's a difficult situation, as I reside on a remote Island ( a reserve) ,
and there are no Nurses or Doctors on the Island who hold a IBCLC
designation. I am passionate about this work as is the community in which I
am working. My issue is that I need someone to "mentor" me and verify my
teaching and, as it stands now they have to be IBCLC certified, which makes
sense.

So, after all that, do you have any ideas as to a way to solve my problem?

I'm just looking for advice as it's a tricky situation and with all of your
experience I thought you may have a few things to say about this particular
situation.

I am eligible for Pathway A, G and H to reduce my hours to 1500. Which is
good and I plan to take your course in Ohio next year, so I'm making the
steps. I'm also teaching breastfeeding education sessions to the pre
/postntatl population here as well as prenatal classes.

Any wise words would be truly appreciated.

Thanks,
