Thank you everyone for the help on why I might be seeing more frenulum differences. 

Karyn-grace, it is nice to know that your third child did well despite tongue tie. I don't think the genetic thing applies in my community as it's a mid size town in CA where people have tended to come from different places- good thought, though. 

Catherine Genna, all that info is very helpful and makes sense in this situation. 

The only question I have now is what positions others have found most helpful with this problem. The BFAB states mother lying on back with baby prone may help. I'm going to have her try that, but if you have time to offer other things that have worked for you, please do.
