I respect the work that Sandra Steingraber does, and would welcome a cleaner
environment, for many reasons.

I find it interesting, though, that the conference she describes was
sponsored in part by the March of Dimes, an organization known to be in
collusion with infant formula companies -- accepting lots of money from the
formula companies and cooperating in fund-raising efforts, including the use
of giant plastic baby bottles as contribution collection containers at
Wal-Mart and other places where MOD solicits contributions, and selling
Nestle's candy to raise money for MOD. I wouldn't be involved in any
conference where MOD had a presence. I think that formula causes much
greater harm to children than the MOD ever prevented through their polio or
spina bifida campaigns.
