I am an IBCLC working alone in a small hospital with approx. 50 births a
month. Our brfeeding initiation rate is about 98% and I am gathering
data to support my usefulness during this first year of doing this job.
I have run across some stubbornly sore nipples that I would love to use
Dr.Jack's nipple ointment on, but my boss tells me I have to first
present evidence that it has worked for others, to be offered to our
docs as a reason why they should allow it's use here. Do any of you who
are working with new Moms in hospitals, and then seeing them on an
out-patient basis for problems have good things to say that I could pass
along? I know I have read a few comments from the list lately, but I
need ammo in the form of agreeing that it is indeed helpful, in similiar
circumstances as mine. Thank-you in advance for any help you can give.
I feel so much stronger for having been a part of this group!
