Then isnīt it more logical to pump and dump until the radioactive iodine is all washed out of her system? And then, after that, continue to breastfeed? These patients are asked to drink a lot of water and urinate frequently so as
not to keep the urine (highly saturated with radioactive iodine) in the bladder for very long. I would think the rationale for the milk would be the same.
